Made up of 48 islands and islets, Siargao has captured the hearts of many local and international surfers.  Known as the surfing capital of the Philippines, the island region is home to one of the most challenging surfing waves.  Best to visit the island around September to November when the waves reach 8 to 12 feet!
Timing is key in surfing. You will need an eye to see where the swell comes from. Swells are manageable during the summer and a good time for beginners to practice. Local guides are available and they teach you all the basics you need to know.
Explore different surfing spots in Siargao for the best experience. Beginners can check out Guiuan, Jacking Horse, and Quicksilver; Intermediate Level surfers have Bumee, Cemetery, Salvacion, Pilar, and Daku Reef; and Advanced surfers would enjoy Cloud 9, Pacifico, and Tuason’s Point.
Food is always fresh and delicious. Siargao has a wide variety of local cuisine, including their own spin on the traditional bulalo, chicken inasal, pork barbeque, and binakol rice.

Patsy: The local produce is fresh from the farms, and the fish are caught that same morning. As the years passed, little bars, carinderias, and restaurants started opening. It was so much fun to be out on the water all day, and then be able to eat so well at night!
Known for its white sand beaches, hidden lagoons, and world-class waves, Siargao is equally famous for its charming laid back island vibe and friendly residents. Locals will go to great lengths to help you get around the island. Don’t be shy to ask!
